Interweave Knits Holiday Gifts 2011
design by Maria Leigh
I designed this shawl for myself in the summer of 2009. I lived in Belleville autumn of 2009 and I moved to Kingston in Nov 2009. I was quite busy for my first publication in Interweave Knits. The shawl was forgotten and stayed under the box with my stash.
Last winter, I've got a submission call from Interweave Knits and the concept reminded my forgotten shawl. I sent photos of my shawl with note of construction. Luckly, IK team liked my design.
I've got lovely yarn from Manos del Uruguay. At the first time, I thought Gerda for the title of shawl. But, there's another Gerda scarf last Holiday Issue. I wonder their naming. My shawl reborn with charming name: Flamboyant. I'm pleased with it.
This is a really simple shawl based on garter stitches. A pattern is easy to follow. I hope many knitters enjoy knitting and wearing this shawl.
